Cardiff City Boss Pays Tribute To Fans

Cardiff City manager Malky Mackay paid tribute tot eh travelling fans after a 2-1 away win at Crystal Palace confirmed a play-off place for the Bluebirds.

City will now face West Ham United, who missed out on automatic promotion as Southampton won at home.

Speaking to BBC Radio Wales after the game, Mackay thanked the fans and promised to be ready for the Hammers in the play-offs:

i>'I'm delighted, the fans turned out in force and this was a fitting tribute for them.'

'It was staring us in the face, if we won today so we'll look forward to playing them [West Ham] and obviously we've already beaten them this season.'

ecuring a play-off position is a testament to the fantastic efforts of Mackay, his backroom staff and hastily thrown together squad. We've struggled with form, fitness, shape and consistency this season but the effort and commitment have been exemplary.

A massive well done to Malky and his Bluebirds.
