Cardiff City vs Derby County (Team News)

Cardiff City host Derby County tonight looking to built on recent results and take a big step towards securing a play-off position.

Midfielder Stephen McPhauil was relegated to the bench for the win at Barnsley, but we looked a better outfit after his introduction and he could be in line for a recall.

Paul Quinn (ankle) and Craig Conway (ankle ligament) are both out for the remainder of the season.

City have doubts over strikers Rudy Gestede (thigh and hip) and Joe Mason (knee), with Irishamn Mason the more likely to feature after returning to action against the Tykes. Mason completed 86 minutes but looked tired and will be assessed prior to the game. Kenny Miller will again play with surgical glue applied to a nasty gash in his knee).

Derby County manager Nigel Clough will have his squad bolstered by the return to contention of ex-Swansea City man Nathan Tyson (thigh) and fellow forward Jamie Ward (hamstring) following their respective injuries.

Influential defender John Brayford has progressed well after a torn thigh muscle and could make a return ahead of schedule. He has sat out 2 of the anticipated 3 month lay-off but is hoping to feature.

Ben Davies faces a late fitness test for the Rams after feeling stiffness in his hamstring. Clough will definitely be without defenders Shaun Barker, Mark O'Brien and forward Conor Doyle who are all long-term injury absentees.

Miles Addison and Lee Croft are also unlikely to feature after being told they can leave the club in the summer.
