Reading Beat Brighton To Boost Cardiff City

Cardiff City's play-off rivals Brighton & Hove Albion were in action tonight at the Amex Stadium with high flying Reading the visitors. The game went true to form and resulting in another win for the Royals. Veteran Ian Harte got the winning goal after 15 minutes with a deflected free-kick.

Reading were able to do what the Bluebirds failed to do, there was no late Sam Vokes equaliser to earn a late draw for the Seagulls - where Cardiff City can falter, Reading just don't seem vulnerable. They did get somewhat lucky however with Adam Federici saving an Ashley Barnes penalty.

Albion's defeat is fantastic news for Cardiff City, who remain in the play-off positions. With four games to go, the equation is simple, win all four and we finish at least sixth. We also retain a marginally better goal difference.

Of course, the Bluebirds still need to return to form, otherwise our rivals results are academic. It seems almost ludicrous that we are still in the hunt after our recent form and lack of goals/wins. However, we remain sixth on merit and still have a good chance of reaching the play-offs. Again.
