Cardiff City Slip To Ninth Today

Cardiff City have slipped in the Championship table after today's fixtures. City play tomorrow to accommodate the rugby in Cardiff today and tomorrow's clash against Burnley now looks hugely important if we are to maintain any sort of play-off push.

Reading kept up there relentless march with a 4-0 thrashing of Barnsley, while Southampton staged a miraculous late comeback to down Millwall with 2 late penalties for Rickie Lambert.

Our rivals Brighton and Middlesbrough both lost, but it meant wins for Birmingham City and Blackpool. West Ham struck late to rescue a point away at Leeds while Hull City were held away at Palace.

Tomorrow's game could go either way. City are well below form, and a defeat would see us outsiders for a play-off spot. However, a win would see us jump to 4th - albeit having played more than our rivals. While the 3 points are massive, the psychological effects are just as important and would represent a long awaited and very very welcome return to form.
