Ex-Cardiff City Double Act Team Up At Owls

Former Cardiff City manager Dave Jones has managed to secure the services of his longtime number 2 Terry Burton who will join him at new club Sheffield Wednesday. Burton had been enjoying success as a first team coach at West Brom, but jumped at the chance a re-join his former boss.

Burton's appointment is a major plus for the Wednesdayites as he is an experienced and proven coach. It was ex-Watford man Burton who ran the training sessions for Jones at the Bluebirds, and he was far more hands-on while Jones took more time to manage affairs away from the training ground.

Cardiff City are now released from paying Jones his highly lucrative salary each month - a result of them 1-year rolling contract he was on, and requiring a full years' notice to terminate.

Good luck to both, there's a very good chance we could come up against them in the Championship next season and whilst Dave Jones certainly had his critics in South Wales - he remains a very capable manager - especially with Burton to assist him.
