Bluebirds Outplayed And Beaten By Foxes

Cardiff City succumbed to another defeat, this time at the hands of Leicester City and no-one could deny that the Foxes deserved their win after dominating a jaded Bluebirds side from start and almost to finish.

Leicester City were the better side throughout, though were guilty of wasting their better chances in the first half. They created dangerous moments rather than actual chances but deserved to go ahead when debutant Vuckic scythed down a Foxes player after a dangerous set-piece. Gallagher emphatically dispatched the penalty. Kenny Miller looked to have levelled with a neat chip, only to be denied by a very late offside flag.

Further domination ensued for LCFC with Beckford, Nugent and Konchesky all going close. The game looked won when Gallagher curled an excellent free-kick past a stranded Marshall but Cardiff City did manage to pull a goal back through a Whittingham spot-kick after a foul on Miller. Mason had already found the net, but Whitts made no mistake from the penalty.

Whilst City continued to push, we never showed the intent and cutting edge we needed and in all honesty, it would have been a travesty had we taken anything from the game. Vuckic was a passeneger, Kiss looked a liability after replacing Gunnarsson early on while Miller was badly isolated as City became over-run in defense.

A poor day at the office for Cardiff City, and a return to form soon is needed if we are to capitalise on the good start to the season.
