Player Ratings (vs Coventry)

Player Ratings (vs Coventry)

ALEXANDER: 7
Good game, caught well and one excellent punch to clear a corner. No major saves to make.

GILBERT: 6
Made way at half time but was solid and busy until then.

McNAUGHTON: 8 (Man of the Match)
Class throughout, comfortable on both flanks and was composed and extremely effective. Support in attack and great reading of the game in defence.

PURSE: 7
Some poor clearances and missed interceptions but organised and calm. Cool under pressure and dependable throughout.

LOOVENS: 7
Booked for no apparent reason and lost his man once or twice but made some brilliant clearing headers from corners. Good aggressive tackling, an effective performance.

LEDLEY: 7
Switched to left back but was committed and determined all game. Always manages to stretch at the last minute to make good interceptions.

PARRY: 8
Back on form, some excellent attacking play and never stopped running. Set-up the goal and put several good quality crosses in.

McPHAIL: 7
Tidy in midfield and linked play effectively but needed to see more of the ball.

SCIMECA: 7
Brought down when poised to head home but not quite so effective as against WBA. Broke up play and always available to recieve the ball.

THOMPSON: 7
Won more than his share against 2 big centre-backs but was too often caught offside. Close to scoring 3 times and Chopra partnership developing nicely.

CHOPRA: 7
Playing through tight hamstring but looked lively throughout. Was looking frustrated until the goal and caught offside a few times but can be pleased with performance overall and now off the mark.

Subs:

Campbell: 5
-Looks short of pace and made little impact.

Flood: 7
-took time to settle but terrier-like in defence and tidy in attack. Will improve as he settles in.

Glombard:
- direct but little time to impress.

I recieved a complaint about a message you left Swansboichris "If Cardiff is the capital of wales their football team should have a decent stadium, no. They should have good suport from their fans, no. The millenium stadium is in Cardiff, have u played in it yet???" but as you know comments on articles can also be removed / edited
