Cardiff City Lead Chase For Hearts Winger
Cardiff City are thought to be preparing a bid to bring creative winger David Templeton from SPL side Hearts. The Bluebirds have watched the 23 year old Scotsman on a number of occasions and he is seen by Malky Mackay as a player who fits the current CCFC ethos and who would add something to the team.
City are lacking in severaL areas at the moment, and desperately need a pacy, skilful option on the right wing. Don cowie prefers to tuck in, and we lack natural width. We also are without too many people who like the ball at their feet and are capable of driving at defenders to frce them back and creat space for the likes of Kenny Miller.
Hearts are not looking to offload one of their more promising young players, but the Tynecastle side are in financial dire straits and any serious offers would have to be considered. The Bluebirds were knocked back with a £400k bid for Brighton winger Craig Noone - so Hearts will know there is money there to be spent. Whether their valuation of Hamilton exceeds that figure remains to be seen.
Malky Mackay has a number of potential targets in mind, and is sure to assess all his options before making a move. He has a shortlist of permanent and loan signings to consider, with a carefully set budget he will work within. A winger with pace, and a powerful striker are both on his wanted list while further depth in central midfield is also a possibility.
If signed, Templeton would add yet another Scottish voice to the CCFC squad with the likes of McNaughton, Cowie, Conway, Miller and Marshall all regular starters for the Bluebirds.
