Cardiff City's Wildig Extends Shrewsbury Spell

Cardiff City's promising young midfielder Aaron Wildig has extended his loan stay at Shrewsbury Town after recovering well from an ankle injury that looked set to curtail his spell with the Shrews. The young Welsh midfielder had impressed in his appearances to date, helping his side to back-to-back victories.

Wildig needs to be playing games to develop, and despite acquitting himself well in several appearances when the Bluebirds were suffering an injury crisis - he is not ready for regular Championship action.

A loan spell seemed a good option for all parties, and he will now have another chance to show his potential and gain valuable first team experience.

Shrews manager Graham Turner told Town's official website:

'We've extended Aaron's loan for another month which takes it into January and then we'll judge it from there.'

He added: 'He was doing well and we'd had some good results with him in the side so the injury was a setback, but he's made a very quick recovery.'
