Hudsom Hamstring Blow Fails To Hit Bluebirds Hopes

Cardiff City have lost Captain Mark Hudson to a hamstring injury with the powerful centre-half limping off at Coventry City and sitting out yesterday's win over Forest.

It's always a blow to lose suvh an influential player but Anthony Gerrard has stepped in and helped his side concede just one goal over those two ga.es despite two mediocre performances. The Coventry equaliser was a poor goal to concede but they and Forest were kept largely at bay by a defence looking more comfortable of late and well organised by McNaughton and new boy Turner.

it's a tough ask for Gerrard to come in and play his best football having been left out for some time. However he has acquitted himself well and is getting back to full match sharpness. Hudson is close to a return but Mackay will not want to rush him and risk a relapse so Gerrard looks set for more gametime in defence.

With such a small squad City are vulnerable to injuries hitting form hard. Thankfully that has failed to materialise so far and we have managed well despite injuries to key players like Taylor, Miller and now Hudson. The likes of Gerrard and Joe Mason coninue to impress when called upon and we can be hopeful of extending the current good form.
