Reading vs Cardiff City (Team News)

Cardiff City have seen recent injury worries abate and goalkeeper David Marshall could return after illness, though his deputy Tom Heaton did well and could keep his place.

Experienced midfielder Stephen McPhail is also back after being rested. He will compete with Slovakian loanee Filip Kiss for the right to partner Peter Whittingham and Aron Gunnarsson in the heart of midfield.

French forward Rudy Gestede has returned to training after a hamstring injury, but Mackay will not want to rush the youngster back to action with both Earnshaw and Joe Mason available to challenge Kenny Miller.

eading boss Brian McDermott also has a fully fit squad from which to choose after Welsh forward Simon Church (heavy bruising) and Jem Karacan (ankle) both returned to contention during the International break.

Dangerous winger Jimmy Kebe is yet to find his best form after struggling to fully recover from a knee injury and suffering poor form since his return to action. He spoke out in the media about recent contract disputes and may not be selected to start.
