More Peterborough Agony For Cardiff City Fans

More Peterborough Agony For Cardiff City Fans

Cardiff City fans were subjected to more tortuous scenes at London Road tonight, finally succumbing to a 4-3 defeat in yet more bizarre circumstances.

Don Cowie gave City the lead, before the impressive Rudy Gestede limped from the field. That change saw a complete change in dynamic and George Boyd steered home from a corner before a well placed Gavin McCann freekick gave Posh the lead.

Peter Whittingham levelled with his own excellent deadball effort before Aron Gunnarsson steered home an Andrew Taylor cross to give the Bluebirds real hope of snatching a win.

However, a harsh penalty after McCann belted a shot right at Taylor, was awarded and McCann sealed his brace before a late striker by lively substitute Taylor sealed the points for Peterborough with the static Cardiff City defence appealing for offside.

The concession of goals is alarming for Cardiff City, and we appear incapable of holding out any sort of sustained pressure. Both sides had numerous chances outside of the 7 goals scored on the night.

From a goal up, to a goal down, to a goal up to losing by a goal. Yet more ridiculous circumstances for the Bluebirds, and we are beginning to lose our way somewhat. All eyes now on how the depleted squad can react - we need a win. And soon.
