Taylor Injury Blow For Cardiff City

Cardiff City were hit by the injury withrawal of defender Andrew Taylor last night. The former Middlesbrough left-back felt his hamstring and immediately signalled to the bench. He was in pain last night and looks likely to miss games.

A scan is taking place today to determine the extent of the injury. City will be hoping it is only a minor pull, but Taylor looks highly likely to miss Sunday's repeat fixture against Leicester City.

Taylor has been ever present in the league this season and is one of our most consistent performers. As well as scoring a couple of goals, he has linked up well with Conway on the left and has pushed forward to good effect this season.

If, as expected, Taylor is forced to miss out - Mackay will have to change his back four - a decision he has opted against so far. Lee Naylor replaced Taylor last night, and did reasonably well. However, a more likely option would be to sweitch Kevin McNaughton to left back allowing for the inclusion of either Darcy Blake or Paul Quinn at right-back.

Hopefully scans will show no tear and Taylor will be fit again by next week.
