Cardiff City's Miller Stars As Scots Fall Short

Cardiff City striker Kenny Miller made a big impression for his country, but the Scots were denied a much needed win over the Czech Republic courtesy of a dubious and controversial late penalty. Fellow Bluebird Don Cowie also made a late appearance from the bench.

Miller found the net to give Scotland a first half lead, cutting in from the left and his shot was too much for Lastuvka in the Czech goal and he could only parry.

Later, that goal was cancelled out but Scotland looked to have grabbed a vital winner late in the game, with Miller this time the architect as his perfectly weighted and directed cross-pass was slammed home by Darren Fletcher.

However, it was to end in despair for the Scots as Czech sub Rezek went down in the box under the most minimal of contacts allowing Kadlec to net an unstoppable penalty and leave Scotland's qualification hopes in tatters.

A good personal game for Miller, who played the entire 90 minutes, contributing a goal and an assist. However, he did pick up a booking so will miss Scotland's next game. That means he will be fit and ready for Cardiff's clash with Doncaster Rovers on Saturday.
