Buckley Boost For Bluebirds

Cardiff City have been handed a boost tonight with the news that lively Brighton attacker Will Buckley will be unavailable with a hamstring injury - though he is expected to return to action for the Seagulls soon.

Buckley made a fine start to his Brighton career with a brace of goals on his debut. Cardiff City fans will remember him as the pacy right winger who destroyed Lee Naylor last season - the left back endured a torrid afternoon, was booked, conceded a penalty and hauled off by Dave Jones during the first half to save further embarrassment.

Malky Mackay clearly knows Buckley well after managing him at Watford last season before seeing him leave for a fee of around £1m. Buckley's sale, and the departure of Danny Graham to Swansea City were deciding factor's in Mackay's deceision to leave his former club and undertake the massive re-building task he was set at Cardiff.

Facing in-form Brighton will be a difficult prospect, but livewire Buckley is a real threat for the South Coast outfit and his ommission is a positive for the Bluebirds, who will be without midfield duo Aron Gunnarsson and Filip Kiss.
