Mackay Happy With Parma Performance

Cardiff City manager Maly Mackay was happy with the Bluebirds' display after gaining a creditable draw with Italian outfit Parma yesterday.

Speaking after the game, Mackay said:

'Overall I was happy with that, there were parts of the game where we played very well.'

'We were playing a Serie A side in Parma who are getting close to their season starting as well. I thought we controlled the game in large parts.'

'They were good technically but I thought we pressed them very well and made them make mistakes.'

City did look good in sections and there were clear signs that the team are starting to gel as a unit, and understand their respective roles. New signings like Miller and Conway were making their first appearances as City players.

This will be a big week for Cardiff City and Malky Mackay. Getting a good start is crucial in the Championship but facing West Ham away is potentially the toughest fixture of the lot - especially for a hastily assembled outfit like us.

The performance was certainly acceptable, but the lack og goals is an issue for the Bluebirds.
