Cardiff City Will Not Pursue Goodwillie Signing

Cardiff City have no plans to resurrect their interest in highly rated Dundee United striker David Goodwillie. The Bluebirds had been in the race for his signature but were put off by ongoing court cases against him.

Whilst City did wait to see whether the legal proceedings would be clarified, we then switched interest to Kenny Miller and signed the former Rangers man for a fee of £700k. Miller looks set to lead the line, with Earnshaw, Mason, Parkin and Gestede competing with potentially one more signing.

The cooled interest in Goodwillie was confirmed by Cardiff City officials at the AGM held earlier today. Chairman Dato Chan Tien Ghee and Cheif Executive Gethin Jenkins rebuffed the question and claiming any deal for Goodwillie was 'highly unlikely'.

The question of Craig Bellamy returning was also asked. The answer was along the lines of 'it's complicated' but indications were that the club remain interested and will act if a deal becomes feasible/possible within financial and contractual restraints.
