Arsenal Youngster joins on loan

The 19-year-old right (or left) back made several first team performances for Arsenal last impressing many pundits and his manager Arsene Wenger who is said to rate the defender especially highly. He made his debut in the 3-0 league cup victory over Reading and also played Champions league football against Ajax.

Gilbert played against Cardiff City in the FA Cup third round and looked solid defensively as well as making several bursts up the flank.

Gilbert made a total of 9 first team performances for Arsenal gaining a reputation as a tenascious and committed defender.

I just hope that he can live up to his potential, and with Cardiff's help return and be an even better player for them? And evetually get his chance long term in the coming seasons

i really cant see that happening USA no offence to cardiff but wouldnt he want to try and stay in the premiership
