Cardiff City In Talks Over 'Bad Boy' Goodwillie
Cardiff City are in talks with Dundee United in the hope of persuading in-demand striker David Goodwillie to join former team-mate Craig Conway in Cardiff for next season.
The powerful striker is highly regarded in Scotland, and is thought to be keen on a move away from Tannardice despite only recently extending his contract there. Rangers are also interested in the player, but were rebuffed by a hefty £2m valuation.
Cardiff City are desperately in need of striking options with only big Jon Parkin remaining at the club following the sale of Michael Chopra to Ipswich Town and contract expiry of Jay Bothroyd and Craig Bellamy.
Whilst undoubtedly talented, Goodwillie has had his share of off-field problems with regular late night escapades causing him trouble. More serious are the charges of assault and rape levied against him.
So far, only initial discussions have been held but City do have money to spend and believe it will not take the full £2m to persuade Dundee Utd to sell.
