Praise For Cardiff City's 'Workaholic' New Signing

Cardiff City have agreed a deal to sign Craig Conway on a free transfer from Dundee United, with only a medical preventing official confirmation of the move. Conway was in Cardiff last night finalising the deal and an announcement is expected shortly.

Conway's former manager at Tannardice is Peter Houston who had nothing but praise for his departing winger. he told the SW Echo:

"He is a workaholic and has a great attitude to the game and the Cardiff fans will see they have a diamond down there."

"He has great pace and can beat a player and if Cardiff have a striker good in the air then Craig will pick him out no bother whatsoever. He`s an exciting player and Cardiff have done well to get him."

"The fans down there will take to Craig because he will put in every last ounce of energy he has in his body. It`s Cardiff`s gain and our loss."

The Bluebirds are desperately short of midfield options, so strengthening this area was always a priority. However, the capture of Conway appears to be an excellent piece of business and hopefully he can make a big impact.

He has pace, ability and an excellent cross but aside from his wing credentials - Cardiff City fans always appreciate effort. We put up with the hapless Eddie Johnson because he was clearly trying, while other fans favourites like Jason Perry, Andy Legg and Craig Bellamy are/were all 100% players who gave their all and never stop running.

A positive attitude can go a long way and Conway appears to have all the attributes to make a big impression in South Wales. Hopefully his creativity and goals will become a major part of the way we play and help the Bluebirds challenge once more at the top of the Championship.
