Cardiff City On Brink Of Shearer Appointment

Cardiff City are poised to appoint former Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer to the vacant manager's position after 24 hours of mounting speculation, heavy betting and media interest. All the papers will report the appointment is imminent in the morning, while the Mirror Online broke the story tonight.

Shearer has but a few games managerial experience and was barely even linked with the job until the last couple of days. Sherer is undoubtedly a big name, but his lack of experience will worry the majority of fans and he has no background in bringing in players, pre-season and virtually no coaching!

The very best managers have to get a break somewhere and there is no doubting his potential, contacts and reputation. Shearer certainly deserved a decent chance and will surely increase interest and exposure for the Bluebirds.

Whilst all indications are that Alan Shearer will tomorrow be named Cardiff City manager, there may well be more twists and turns to come as the club keep us guessing.
