Cardiff City: History On Our Side ?!

Faint Hearted? Try these encouraging omens from history.......

They say that an omen is the last vestige of a desperate man, but how about some comparisons with 2003 to stir the blood before Tuesday night's decisive encounter with Reading.

In the Championship play off campaign of 2003 Dave Jones' Wolves beat (wait for it...) Reading in the play off semi final before hammering the conquerors of (yes, you guessed it...) Nottingham Forest in the play off final. In that same year Cardiff (lest we forget) drew nil - nil in the away leg of our play off semi, prevailing on the strength of a one - nil win at Home. If history is in the mood to repeat itself expect the Bluebirds to squeak past Reading on Tuesday before dismantling the Swans at Wembley!

Also, in 2003 we became the first team to keep three successive clean sheets in a play off campaign. What price would we give for that now? (Providing of course Messrs Bothroyd, Chopra et al can set the old onion sack bulging at the other end!)
