Cardiff City's game with Burnley today is now effectively a dead rubber as the FA have announced the NO points deduction will be thrown at Queens Park Rangers.
Today's FA statement read:
'The Regulatory Commission hearing charges brought by The FA against Queens Park Rangers FC wish to announce that although two of the charges have been found to be proved there will be no points deduction made from Queens Park Rangers FC in this season or the next.'
The decision means that QPR will be crowned champions after their game against Leeds United today, and Norwich City will go up in 2nd place.
There is likely to be an appeal from Cardiff City and Swansea City, with a real possibility of compensation given that QPR were found guilty and could well have lost points - I think given the circumstances, this is the right decision and the authorities must ensure this strained and lengthy scenario cannot happen again with no-one knowing whats going on even on the last day of the regular season!
Time to draw a line under the affair (as far as football fans are concerned) and great news for Hoops fans. Bluebirds have suffered for the actions of the board members in recent seasons - and it almost led to liquidation for us. QPR's fans and players deserve promotion and it's up to the FA to decide.
The decision should have been made some time ago, without this weeks media carnival. For Cardiff CIty, we need to get back to form in this tough fixture with Burnley.
