Whittingham Strike Is 'Goal Of The Decade' !

Cardiff City's opening goal in the 2-2 draw with Barnsley has been hailed as the 'goal of the decade' by Tykes manager Mark Robins.

Speaking after the game, Robins bemoaned his sides luck and felt they could have taken all three points, hailing Peter Whittingham's sublime first half strike.

It truly was a remarkable goal as he collected Emmanuel-Thomas' flick and lashed a volley into the top corner from 25 yards. The goal simply could not have been better positioned if you'd placed it there by hand and while goals like this always have a small element of luck, you know with Whittingham that this is what he was attempting and has the ability to make it work.

Unfortunately the goal has not received the credit it deserves after Cardiff City twice surrendered a lead to end with a point and a 2-2 draw. Thankfully for Whittingham, the strike will help him overcome the missed penalty in the 1-0 defeat at Palace.
