Cardiff City have some injury concerns ahead of the home clash with Scunthorpe United.
Steve McPhail is available having returned to bench duty and playerd for the reserves in midweek. However, Aaron Ramsey too a knock and will not be risked if not fully fit. Peter Whittingham too is a concern but defender Kevin McNaughton looks set to shake off his hamstring complaint.
Lee Naylor returns after illness while this match could provide an opportunity to rest captain Craig Bellamy after a tough week and back-to-back games coming up. Bellamy's knees are holding up well, but he needs rest time and could be saved for the midweek clash with Burnley.
That scenario would see Chris Burke and Jay Emmanuel-Thomas competing for a place on the wing.
Scunthorpe United recently added Chelsea prospect Ben Gordon to their squad. The left-back is in line for a debut against The Bluebirds but fellow defender David Mirfin is ruled out with a persistent thigh problem. Giant centre-back Rob Jones also misses out with a back injury.
Joe Murphy remains sidelined with a groin injury while young centre-back Niall Canavan has tendonitis. However, fellow defender Michael Raynes is likely to be available after illness.
Michael O'Connor (knee), Cliff Byrne (back) and Garry Thompson (groin) are also absentees for the beleaguered Iron.
There is good news for Scunthorpe however with highly rated midfielder Abdi Ibrahim back in contention following suspension. The combative Manchester City loanee is looking to impress and his energy and determination will be a boost.
