Keogh 'Frustrated' By Cardiff City Spell

Cardiff City allowed on-loan striker Andy Keogh to end his spell with the club during the January transfer window with the Irish International then moving to join Bristol City on another loan deal.

Keogh joined us on loan from Wolves following the departure of Ross McCormack to Leeds Utd. It was thought he would provide strong competition for our talented forward line. He was given a number of chances in the team, but usually in place of Bothroyd or as a lone striker. That did not suit his natural game, and he made a limited impact.

Keogh has spoken of his personal frustration and hit out at former boss Dave Jones after failing to get a prolonged run in the starting XI. Keogh told the Bristol Evening Post:

'It was a frustrating time for me at Cardiff, I'd be in the side one week and then out of it the next. I didn't feel as though I ever really got going while I was there.'

'I wasn't happy and I knew I had to move on if I wanted to kick-start my career.'

'I told them I wanted to leave and go back to Wolves and that's when Bristol City came in for me. I want to play regular games and show people what I'm capable of.'

It was little surprise to see Keogh leave, especially after the arrival of big Jon Parkin from Preston. He started the next game away at Norwich leaving Keogh further away from first choice. He scored his first goal for Bristol City over the weekend and appears happier at his new club.
