Keinan 'Can't Wait' For Cardiff City Debut

Cardiff City`s new signing Dekel Keinan is delighted to have joined the Bluebirds after failing to win a regular starting place with Blackpool and the Israeli International is looking forward to the challenge.

In an interview with the Cardiff City official site, Keinan revealed his desire to play as soon as possible and that he jumped at the chance to join the Bluebirds:

"I didn`t know Cardiff had been looking at me to be honest. But having spoken to the manager here now, he really wanted me and he really knows about me."

"When I heard he wanted me, I didn`t even think about it. I just said yes straight away."

"It made me happy to know that a coach like Dave Jones wanted me. I will be happy to play for Cardiff and I can`t wait for my first game."

Although a new signing, Keinan has a good chance of making his debut in the next match, at home to Reading on 1st Feb. Often, new recruits are given time in training to get to know their new team-mates and the style and tactics used. However, Kevin McNaughton is currently being utilised in an emergency centre-half role with Gabor Gyepes out-of-favour and Darcy Blake seen as more of a full-back by Jones.

That gives Keinan a good chance of being thrown in alongside Mark Hudson, with McNaughton reverting to his more usual full-back position. A home game against Reading would allow the Israeli some important gametime in front of his home fans, before a difficult trip to face Swansea in the South Wales derby.
