Bluebirds To 'Concentrate On The League'

Cardiff City exited the FA Cup late last night after two creditable draws against Stoke City, the Potters sealing their passage to the next round with 2 extra time goals from Jon Walters.

In a poor game played at a slow tempo, neither team created many chances but the Bluebirds defence did manage to keep out an attack featuring the likes of Jermaine Pennant and Riccardo Fuller - a welcome sight after our November-January slump.

Chopra and Parkin had penalty shouts turned down, while Andy Keogh also had a couple of efforts and Lee Naylor blazed over a free-kick.

The vast majority of fans can see we gave it a good effort, despite resting some crucial players but the likes of Rae, Wildig, Blake and co did well. Few will be too disheartened to miss out on a trip to Wolves while we can now return to more pressing matters, namely winning promotion.

The two FA Cup games did allow Dave Jones to blood some fringe players, with Quinn, Parkin, Drinkwater etc getting some much needed gametime. We were also able to play our way back into some semblence of form without the pressures of the Championship and potential loss of points each game. Whilst we certainly weren't at our best, conceding just one goal over 180 minutes, a sweet Tuncay strike, is no disaster.
