Cardiff City striker Jay Bothroyd has praised the new facilities on offer to the Bluebirds after the House of Sport recently opened in a convenient location - directly opposite the Cardiff City Stadium!
With the excellent facilities available at the Vale of Glamorgan Resort, City's options have improved dramatically since the times that Dave Jones continuously moaned and even dubbed his forlorn charges as The Ragged Arse Rovers !
However, the VoG pitches are not safe from the heavy snowfall that sits over South Wales at present, and we also share those facilities with other tenants - including the WRU. Therefore, our own indoor option is a massive positive for the club.
Jay Bothroyd told the SW Echo:
"It`s tremendous. There is a great surface in there. When the weather`s like this it`s an excellent facility to use."
"It`s not the same as grass and the ball moves a bit differently, but we now have a great indoor training facility at the club."
The House of Sport Complex is key to the academy status of the club, as well as being a hugely useful resource for the first team squad. The facilities are superb, and owe a great deal to Bluebirds fan and director Steve Borley who has put a great deal of his personal time and capital into ensuring the HoS build was successful.
