Cardiff City Man Joins Carlisle On Loan

Cardiff City defender Miguel Comminges has joined League One outfit Carlisle United, initially on a months loan.

The loan spell is essentially a trial after the Bluebirds offered Comminges the chance to train using our facilities in order to recover from a debilitating knee injury suffered last year. The Guadeloupian had already been told he had no future at the club, and will be allowed to join any interested club in the new year on a free transfer.

Comminges joined City from Swindon Town and made a number of appearances, primarily at right-back though he has also covered on the left while also appearing in midfield and at centre-back for our reserves.

He failed to nail down a starting position, and struggled with positioning and consistency before being hit by injury. With Lee Naylor, McNaughton, Darcy Blake, Adam Matthews and Paul Quinn all ahead of him, first team options for Comminges look virtually impossible while he has yet to show the quality required to succeed in the Championship.
