Cardiff City Defender In Team-Of-The-Week

Cardiff City have enjoyed a fruitful week after back-to-back victories over newly promoted duo Leeds Untied and Norwich City. It was as much the manner of the wins, a 4-0 mauling away at Elland Road, and a clinical 3-1 triumph at home against the Canaries, that has caused others to sit up and take note.

With the abundance of attacking talent available to the Bluebirds, it is therefore somewhat surprising that the only player named in the 'team-of-the-week' is full-back Kevin McNaughton. While Super Kev is undoubtedly a fine player, and in form, his inclusion is somewhat baffling as he is only performing as he does week in week out while our attacking displays have been the bedrock of victories, rather than the defence.

No mention of Jay Bothroyd, the league's top scorer and having netted on Saturday to add to his brace at Leeds.

The team in full:

Keiren Westwood (Coventry), Kevin McNaughton (Cardiff), Ian Harte (Reading), Andrew O`Brien (Leeds), Liam Fontaine (Bristol City), Richie Wellens (Leicester), Jonny Howson (Leeds), Carlos Edwards (Ipswich), Adam Hammill (Barnsley), Tomasz Cywka (Derby), Paul Gallagher (Leicester).
