Bellamy Fitness: 'Better Than Ever'

Cardiff City captain Craig Bellamy produced a sparkling man-of-the-match performance against Leeds United to inspire his side to a 4-0 win and maintain the remarkable record that we win every game he plays in.

That game was the second in a week for Bellamy, and all indications were that he would be rested for this weekend's clash against Norwich City. Dave Jones had previously intimated that Craig's involvement would be limited to one game a week in order to reduce stress on his problem knees and maximise his availability over the season.

However, it has always been suggested that Bellamy himself is the right man to decide his availability since he, along with a specialist physiotherapist, has designed a specific schedule which suits him perfectly.

Now, Bellamy has fired a warning to other clubs in the division that he is fit and ready to take on all comers. Bellamy told the Western Mail:

"I`m feeling good, better than at any stage this season. Last week was the first time after a match I was able to train fully."

"When I first came to Cardiff I had been injured and I was only able to train seven times in two and a half months."

"It`s been tough, but right now everything feels right."

Bellamy will be understandably keen to take on his former club, when Norwich City visit CCS this weekend. He starred for the Canaries before leaving to join Coventry in a £6.5m deal.

If he plays, it will also be only the second appearance Bellamy has made in a home game, since he has not been fit since making his goalscoring debut in the 4-0 win against Doncaster Rovers. Bellamy's first and last game for Cardiff City were 4-0 victories suggesting high-flying Norwich City may face a difficult tesrt indeed.

Cardiff City striker Jay Bothroyd is a leading contender for the PFA player-of-the-month award for October. An award made BY THE FANS. By voting, you could also win the chance to present Bothroyd with the award (if successful) on the CCS pitch. VOTE FOR JAY BOTHROYD NOW!<
