Chopra Back In Cardiff City Contention

Cardiff City's livewire striker Michael Chopra is back in contention for the first team after sitting out the past couple of months with ankle ligamnt trouble. The injury was caused by a reckless lunging tackle by Wayne Thomas of Doncaster, an incident that went unpunished by the referee but left Chopra facing a lenthy spell on the sidelines.

Happily, Chopra's rehabilitation went as planned, and the International break saw him return to full fitness. He made his playing return during an emphatic 5-1 victory in a reserve team game and suffered no reaction following his 60 minutes action.

Chopra is now hoping to be included in the squad to face Bristol City on Saturday, though he is unlikely to start. Either way, his pace, energy and goalscoring touch provide a welcome boost and will add the extra edge and flair to create space in midfield - a difficulty we have faced with the likes of Whittingham, McPhail able to be closed down effectively by rival midfields.

Chops will be desperate to add to his solitary league goal this season and looked sharp prior to his injury.
