David Marshall 7
Good save from Garcia`s bobbling shot and collected well. Little else to do.
Lee Naylor 8 M.O.M
A very polished performance from Naylor who was strong in defence (despite limited cover from Koumas) and managed to get forward to good effect with some impressive passing. One perfectly executed slide tackle prevent a shot on goal, the Hull player never saw him coming!
Kevin McNaughton 8
A few uncharacteristic missed passes early on but grew into another fine performance. Super Kev is getting forward more in the new system and was desperately unlucky not to score.
Gabor Gyepes 7
Strong, committed and growing in stature - Gyepes played well. Always good in the air, he has improved on the floor also and looks solid.
Mark Hudson 7
As per Gyepes, he is strong aerially but can struggle against pace. Wasn`t tested too much by Hull but another clean sheet tells its own story.
Seyi Olofinjana 7.5
Such a physical presence and incredibly effective. Seyi took his goal well and contributed in all areas before being forced off through injury.
Steve McPhail 6
Still finding his way back to fitness and lacking decisiveness on the ball, McPhail played some pretty passes but looked off the pace.
Peter Whittingham 6.5
A quiet game for Whitts but he contributed throughout. His role overlaps too much with McPhail and he needed to get involved more.
Chris Burke 6.5
A reasonably quiet game from Burkey, although he did well when in possession. Defenders just cant handle him and his width is crucial to the team.
Jason Koumas 6
Not fully fit, but that will come. Koumas struggled to get involved but kept things simple and remains a classy passer of the ball. Plenty more to come.
Andy Keogh 7
Exemplary work-rate in the lone striker position. It`s an unfamiliar role, but he improvised well and created chances - a good home debut.
