Cardiff City Duo Nominated For Awards

Cardiff City manager Dave Jones has been nomintaed for the npower Championship manager of the month award for August after the Bluebirds soared to the table summit and remain unbeaten in the league.

Jones has assembled an exciting attacking outfit, but despite some suspected frailties - we have so far conceded just 2 goals allowing us to collect 10 points from 4 games. Sheffield United remain the only team to take points from us after a 1-1 draw at CCS.

Kenny Jackett (Millwall), Neil Warnock (QPR) and Roy Keane (Ipswich Town) are the other contenders.

Also up for an award is classy striker Jay Bothroyd who has started the season in emphatic fasion - he has 4 goals in 4 (plus 2 more in the cup). Bothroyd is so much more than a target man and is the focal point for our strong frontline - he brings others into the game and as leading goalscorer has added even more than usual.

Bothroyd is up against former loanee Kasper Schmeichel (leeds United), Adel Taraabt (QPR) and Paul Robinson (Millwall).
