McCormack Relief Over Cardiff City Exit

Former Cardiff City striker Ross McCormack has spoken of his relief after securing an exit from the Bluebirds, the Scottish forward joining Leeds United last week.

McCormack has barely featured for CCFC over the past 2 seasons, largely due to the return of Michael Chopra and the preferred 4-4-2 formation leaving him out in the cold. Now that Jones has switched formation, we have recruited Craig Bellamy and Andy Keogh - meaning that once again, McCormack would have struggled for first team action.

McCormack said of the move:

"It`s a relief to get out and be involved somewhere. It`s been perceived as though there was a transfer request, but there wasn`t."

"These things can`t be helped and I had some great times there. Me and my fiancee have been talking about this for a while and it`s nice to get out and start afresh."

Ross was very unlucky that in the past two years, the ONLY position we have not needed a replacement / cover was the partner to Jay Bothroyd. If he and Chopra had forged a partnership, it would have seen a future, and seen plenty of goals for the pacy duo.

However, it wasn't to be and we wish McCormack all the best for his future - also hoping he does not return to haunt us.
