McCormack Leaves Cardiff City For Leeds

Cardiff City have sold striker Ross McCormack to fellow Championship side Leeds Untied after the Whites were successfully able to negotiate terms with the Scottish forward, believed to have been picking up wages of around £8k per week at Cardiff City.

McCormack began life in South Wales in tremendous form, and was quickly attracting attention from the Premiership following his £150k switch from Motherwell. However, since the return of Michael Chopra he has found himself increasingly isolated and has been left frustrated by a lack of opportunities. In fact, Chopra was constantly preferred to Rosco, even when struggling with a heel injury meaning that when McCormack was given chances, it was often in a left midfield role.

Without regular football, Ross has lost a great deal of confidence and looks a shadow of his lively former self. He has struggled with off-field problems after beeing banned from driving and appears to have lost a yard of pace and goalscoring instinct.

If Leeds United can restore McCormack's confidence and fitness, they have a terrific player, more than capable of scoring goals in the Championship. His career had stalled at CCFC, and with the arrival of Bellamy and Andy Keogh - Ross was going to have even fewer opportunities. However, the reported fee of £400k seems unrealistically low for a player in the middle of his contract, and with obvious quality.

Best of luck for the future Ross - please don't score two hat-tricks against us this season !!
