Cardiff City FC have officially confirmed that new recruit Craig Bellamy is fully registered and eligible to represent the Bluebirds after discussions with the Football League today.
There had been a minor doubt over Bellamy after a curious statement by the football league suggesting they were worried about how the Bluebirds were funding the deal and that the football league could withold Bellamy's registration.
However, those suggestions appear to have been quashed and a statement released on the CCFC official website confirmed that Bellamy was fully registered.
Interestingly, the statement (available here) made no further reference to the football league comments, nor the other parties who have spoken out over the Bellamy deal. Many media outlets have been only to happy to spread negativity but the club have risen above such comments and have not felt the need to react.
Clearly this is a departure from previous times at Cardiff City, with the likes of Peter Ridsdale and Sam Hammam only to happy to speak in the media on any issue with PR Pete regularly issuing statments on a variety of press reports etc. Chairman TG and executive officer Gethin Jenkins appear far more circumspect in their dealings - a welcome change, and to be perfectly honest, the off field progress speaks for itself.
