'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Bellamy 'Thrilled' By Cardiff City Move

Cardiff City nerw boy Craig Bellamy will be unvelied as a Bluebird this afternoon after both CCFC and Manchester City confirmed the deal. Bellamy has given his thoughts on the move via an official statement released by Cardiff City FC:

'I'm thrilled to be coming back home to Cardiff and am excited at the prospect of wearing the shirt and playing for the club I've supported since I was a boy.

I'll be working hard with my new team-mates to bring success to the club and look forward to our next Championship game on Saturday. I'm sure that all 'City fans will play their part in driving us forward this year.

It has been my dream to play my part in taking my hometown club to the Premier League, which would be fantastic for the football club, the city of Cardiff and Wales.'

The deal represenents a massive coup for the Bluebirds and huge respect and thanks must go to those who made an impossibility a reality. Those people include Dave Jones, Gethin Jenkins, TG and Vincent Tan, and of course Craig Himself. There are few genuine hometown heroes these days, understandably so in the shortlived areer and agent driven business that football has become.

Aside from the obvious quality and determination Craig brings, we should see inflated crowds and interest at the CCS this season, hopefully some of the younger generation brought in by the Bellamy hype will be Bluebirds forever.

I hope Craig does really well for you. We loved him at City. I'm just glad he won't come up against us for another prem team
Would love to find out about the financial side of this!
Great signing by your lot, but i fear a few red cards coming his way, will get kicked week in week out in this league
Lol forever hoop jeolous because cardiff got him and celtic didnt, why would he wanna go to a poor scottish division equivalent to the second division.
How on earth have you afforded that?
Thanks for taking the pressure off of a number of clubs in the NPC! You are gonna be expected to walk the division and, as we have found out in the past, that sort of pressure can make life very difficult! "Enjoy" being favourites!
When were QPR ever favourites?!? I remember calling you 'moneybags', never felt scared of the side you put out tho...
Have to agree with the post above, you'd have thought CC would have paid the debts still hanging from other clubs first. Well if there is no promotion this season expect some serious finance issues, that's if they make the end ofthe season, especially if you are paying while he is sidelined due to a glut of Red Cards.
1... 2... Motherwell's comming for you, 3... 4.... They are going to wait no more...,19528,11796_6318144,00.html
Spending other peoples cash again that seems the cardiff way at the moment, surely you should pay your debts before you make big signings like this.
