'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Boss Comments After Cardiff Outgun Burton

Cardiff City manager Dave Jones was satisfied to get the win, and some much needed gametime for his growing squad. Follwoing the 4-1 aet win, Jones said:

'We started brightly but gave away a sloppy goal and made it difficult for ourselves. Full credit to them, though, as they kept going, but we knocked the stuffing out of them in the end.'

'I needed to give some game time to Jason Koumas and we were always in control during extra-time. Several players had game time and that was important at this stage of the season.'

'We are much stronger now and the squad is getting bigger and I`m hoping to do some more business in the next few days. We will carry on working hard to get the team firing on all cylinders.'

Burton Albion manager Paul Peschisolido was delighted by his teams showing and thought his side deserved more from the game:

'I'm proud of the boys, they performed ever so well.'

'I'm disappointed at the 4-1 scoreline just because people will look at it and think we've been drubbed; we haven't done, we've matched them every step of the way.'

'They're a quality side but we were superb today at times.'
