Cardiff City Starlet Hit ByTraining Injury
Cardiff City defender Darcy Blake will not win his first senior Wales cap tonight after being ruled out of the friendly game with Luxembourg.
Blake has been struggling with a muscle strain, but it is not thought to be serious and he should be available for Bluebirds duty after being rested tonight. It has been a good week up until now for the youngster after winning a starting place in the Bluebirds line-up and being selected in the Championship team of the week after an impressive display at right back.
Blake appears to have carried his superb end-of-season form into the new campaign and would be desperately unlucky to lose his place due to injury. City have Adam Matthews or Paul Quinn available to deputise, but Blake's solid defensive display and blossoming understanding with Chris Burke will mean Cardiff fans have their fingers crossed that him missing out is purely a precaution.
Plenty more chances to come for Darcy to win his first cap.
