TG Promises New Recruits For Cardiff City

Cardiff City captain Mark Hudson has spoken of his delight following a hastily arranged meeting between the squad, and Chairman Dato Chan Tien Ghee where the Malaysian investor re-assured the players that the club is moving forward and will look to back that up with further moves in the transfer market.
City brought Jason Koumas in last week, and were able to register him and fellow recruits Tom Heaton and Danny Drinkwater after TG forwarded further funds to help pay off outstanding debts to Charlton Athletic, Sunderland and HMRC.
City have retained a strong core of players, the majority of last season`s starting XI. However, there is no strength in depth and injuries / suspensions would scupper any chances of a successful season. Several players have spoken of the need for new faces, and urged City to make their ambition clear.
Hudson told the SW Echo:
"We had a meeting an hour-and-a-half before the game and he came in and said the things we wanted to hear. That`s great and hopefully we can see it happen now."
"We`ve managed to keep the majority of the side together and Jason coming in is great news. But we`ve been assured we`ll be getting a few more, which will only benefit us."

A left-back, central midfielder and powerful striker as back-up for Jay Bothroyd are priorities for Dave Jones, but an extra central defender to bolster his unbalanced backline may also be a consideration. Loan players are now becoming available as Premiership clubs look to firm up their squads, while a number of free transfer options are possible.

they need a left back, a big striker, centre back, a central midfielder and a winger, so to let mc cormack play up fronr. so koumas is cover for whittingham and a winger is cover for burke then you can let mc cormack and chopra battle it up up front so i would say city need 5 players.

There's very little chance we'd add 5 to the current squad. However, McCormack, Gyepes and Rae are available if other clubs want them, and I believe DJ wants Taiwo to go out on loan

heard harweood is on trial at mo as the powerful striker to give jay a rest!! we won;t let mccormack go saying that he's clearly fallen foul with DJ in my opinion but when u have chopra u don;t need mccormack but chops will be tired and we need a goalscorer to replace him so why sell mccormack? his wages aren't that big either

mc cormack is still a great player. but i heared he's in ipswitch at the moment and the deal is we could get stead and cash. don't see the point really when we could get harewood. i mean stead is a good player but he is in his late twentes and we need somebody small and nippy to challenge chopra. and bring harewood or keogh in to challenge bothroyd.
