Mark Kennedy officially completed his move from Cardiff City to Ipswich Town yesterday and has revealed his fond memories of his time as a Bluebird.
Kennedy was not the most glamourous of signings but became a hugely influential player on and off the pitch for Cardiff City and will be remembered as a dependable left-back and model pro.
Of his time in Cardiff, Kennedy told the Echo:
"It`s all been good for me at Cardiff. I had a great manager, played alongside great players and in front of great supporters."
"In fact, it was probably the two happiest years of my 19-year career."
High praise indeed for a former Liverpool player who enjoyed promotion to the Premiership with both Wolves and Manchester City.
Kennedy also gave his thoughts on the Bluebirds chances for the forthcoming season and beleives the hurt of the Wembley defeat will eventually become a positive and provide valuable experience and determination.
"At Cardiff we finish seventh and blow up, the following year we get to the play-off final, and that`s why the manager and the players will be better off for the experience."
"Yes, the players have had to have it in them, but the hard work sometimes is bringing it out of them. On their day, Cardiff are a match for anybody, and with roughly the same squad they will be up there again this season."
