Horror Debut For Joe Ledley

Departed Cardiff City man Joe Ledley endured a disasterous debut after new club Celtic were thrashed 3-0 by FC Braga to leave their Champions League hopes hanging by a thread.

Ledley moved to Parkhead after months of speculation over his future, rejecting a deal at longtime admirers Stoke City. His departure was greeted by a mixed reaction from fans, disappointed to see a prized asset leave for no fee.

However, only a bitter few would hold a grudge against Ledley, regardless whether they saw this as a step backwards for the talented Welshman.

Ledley told the Scottish Sun:

'We didn't plan it to be that way and we are disappointed because we just didn't play well.'

'We just have to go into the home game and try to get three or four goals. We have to pick ourselves up.'

'I believe in my ability. I had the chance to go to other clubs, but I came here to win trophies and play in the Champions League. I really hope to do that with Celtic.'

Wow! - Just needed to see the headline and thought straight away - SOUR GRAPES! why cant u just be pleased for the guy and wish him well. He's now bettering himself as a player in the Champs League instead of a championship club?!! love the quote - "only a bitter few would hold a grudge against Ledley, regardless whether they saw this as a step backwards for the talended Welshman"..hypocritical!!

What on your shoulder cherry?!? As I say, only a few dislike him joing going to celtic - i'm not one. However, many many feel a move to the SPL is backwards, and that he should have gone to Prem (note - i didnt expect him to stay here) - so no, its nothing to do with Celtic, our interest in Ledley is because he came through our ranks and is a fan. Personally I hope he does well wherever he goes (except swansea!!)
