Cardiff City`s fixtures for the 2010/11 campaign have now been released and the Bluebirds will kick off on 7th August with a juicy and testing encounter against fellow promotion hopefuls Sheffield United. This will be the FOURTH year in succession we have been given a home draw for the league opener after Stoke City and Southampton were invited to Ninian Park with Scunthorpe Untied on the wrong end of a 4-0 thumping last season at the CCS curtain raiser.
The Key fixtures every Bluebirds fan looks out for are the derby encounters with Swansea City, we play the Jacks at home on November 6th with the return leg on February 5th. Both those games are currently scheduled for Saturdays, so are subject to change and likely to be switched to Sundays and/or early kick-offs.
This season also sees a departure from tradition after Plymouth Argyle`s relegation. The festive period usually sees us face the Pilgrims and Reading to restrict the need for long journeys. This time we`ll have a home clash with Coventry City on Boxing Day and a mouthwatering New Year`s Day trip to face the Wurzels of Bristol City.
We are not allowed to post the fixture list without paying ridiculous amounts so you can view the full list here.
