Cardiff City recently announced the capture of Manchester United goalkeeper Tom Heaton, who will re-join the Bluebirds after spending a season on-loan in South Wales in the 2008/09 campaign where we collapsed dramatically in the run-in and missed a play-off spot by a single goal.
The 24 year old was hit by untimely injuries that year, but failed to establish himself as the number one as Enckelman, Konstantopoulos and Stuart Taylor also had chances and failed to take them. There were effectively three stints to Heaton`s career and while his first was not convincing, the youngster produced a blinding display away at Arsenal in a 4-0 cup drubbing - Heaton making a number of inspiring saves and showing true class despite the score.

Details of the season finale, and Heaton`s third stint can be viewed HERE.
Cardiff City fans are unlikely to get too excited about this signing, but Heaton should get a fair chance. Fans understand our current financial predicament and free transfers with age on their side and the pedigree and C.V. Heaton has do not come along too often.
A poll is now open on the right of your screen inviting Bluebirds fans` views on the signing of Heaton.
