Forest And Earnie OUT Of Play-Off Shake-Up

And then there were three. Cardiff City and Leicester City now know who will await them at Wembley as the Bluebirds and the Foxes go toe-to-toe tomorrow night with Cardiff holding a slender 1-0 lead.

The other play-off semi-final second leg was played tonight, and despite a double from former Cardiff City hero Robert Earnshaw - Forest were beaten on the night in a remarkable topsy-turvy game at the City Ground.

The Tangerines were 2-1 up after the first leg, but a sensational hat-trick by DJ Campbell helped his side to a 4-3 win. Thats a 6-4 aggregate win for Ian Holloway's side and they will be inbuoyant mood for the final on 22nd May.

Hopefully Wednesday night's clash between Cardiff and Leicester will have similar levels of excitment and see the side with the 'half-time' lead progress.

Bad luck for Nottingham Forest, including their former Bluebirds Earnshaw and Chris Gunter. They had a tgerrific season, and were pushing for automatic promotion for some time. An improvement in their away form will see Billy Davies' side right up there again next year - will we be playing them? Hopefully not !
