Ledley In Welcome Return To CCFC Warm-Up

Cardiff City fans arriving early to the CCS last night were treated to the enormously welcome sight of creative and energetic midfielder Joe Ledley warming up with the rest of the squad.

Ledley underwent a double hip operation just a couple of months ago to shave bone from his hips that was hindering his movement and causing pain for the Welsh International. Despite scepticism from doctors and his manager, Ledley maintained he would be back in contention for the end of the season and has confounded his doubters, including fellow hip victims roger Johnson and Warren Feeney by returning well ahead of schedule.

He has returned to training with the full squad, after being given the all clear to resume running in straight lines be the physio. Optimistic assessments were that he could be back early in April and while he will be disappointed to miss the local derby against Swansea City - he will be delighted that he can feature again for the Bluebirds and hopefully contribute to a fruitful season with a play-off place looking well within reach.

The pre-match warm up did not include contact, but Ledley`s movement and agility were there for all to see and, from the outside at least, he looked as fit and lean as any of his team-mates. Congratulations Joe, good to see you back and hopefully see you back in the matchday squad as soon as possible.
