'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Cardiff City 2-1 Leicester City (Boss Comments)

Cardiff City manager Dave Jones was understandably delighted as his ten men dug in deep to secure a crucial win over Leicester City.

Jones told BBC Sport:

"I think that was our best performance this season because of the circumstances. We deserved our half-time lead and I knew they would come at us after the break, but I didn't expect to lose three players through injury and have one sent off".

"It was a typical Tuesday night game and the place was bouncing because the fans were magnificent. The players deserve all the praise going because they were not going to lie down. We had to defend 20 yards out, let them have the ball in midfield, and then defend when it came into the danger area."

Leicester manager Nigel Pearson was disappointed but chose to take positives from the defeat:

"We should have got something from the game but there are lots of positives I can take from it. There was a good response in the second half but I saw lots of encouraging signs and the season is far from over."

"We have a few players out injured, but so have many other clubs and I am not downbeat and still think that we can finish the season strongly."
