Cardiff City Fans To Remember Killen Snub

Cardiff City fans will surely have a thing or two to say to Kiwi International striker Chris Killen if the forward is selected for his current club Middlesbrough as Gordon Strachan's men travel to the CCS on Saturday.

Killen was as close as he could have been to a move to the Bluebirds back in May 2007. He announced that the deal was all but complete, only to have his head turned by late interest from Celtic. See

However, he made the dramatic U-turn and Cardiff City ended up with a strike force consisting of Warren Feeney, Robbie Fowler and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. Paul Parry became the most potent attacking threat and Killen missed out on a probable trip to Wembley and FA Cup final.

A remarkably similar situation saw Marcus Bent ditch the Bluebirds to join Birmingham City and if his reception is anything to go by - Killen may also come in for some abuse. Cardiff fans have very long memories, as every former Swansea City player can testify. Whilst the fans involvement is always better directed at supporting our own players - hostile receptions for visiting players does add to the atmosphere and hopefully Killen will not find himself on the scoresheet.
